Oooohhh The Happenings O' March!!!

My kids on St. Patty's!!! Usually in the morning when the boys get out of the shower they run around in their towels (well okay, and naked) and take forever to get dressed, claiming they need to "dry off". So I threatened that if they didn't hurry and dress in their green clothes on St. Patty's, little leprechauns would come and pinch them on their bottoms. Preston was a bit concerned. Carter wasn't buying it for a second.

Tonight was the science fair at Carter's school. KC (errr....Carter) did his project on the rock cycle.

So here you have it....

We took crayon shavings and put it in aluminum foil and applied pressure (and eventually heat from a candle) to represent the different rock cycles.

Oh and let's not forget safety first. We of course had the kids wear safety goggles as instructed in the project directions! You never know when crayon is going to melt and creep up into your eyes or the crayon sediment will suddenly combust during the experiment!!!

Carter did an awesome job representing his project. It was a really small turnout. There were maybe 15 projects out of the entire school. Honestly, doesn't anyone appreciate science anymore???!!! Carter got two candy bars (leftovers from last year's chocolate bar fundraiser, I believe!).

Yay for science!!!
