Yes, that's right. We took a short, quick, very fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants trip down to California for KC's sister's wedding. We really didn't think we would go as our kids have been so sick with croup and the stomach flu, and on Wednesday they were seeming to snap out of it so we packed up and left Thursday afternoon.

KC's dad paid for all of the siblings to stay at a wonderful resort in Newport Coast. KC has 6 sisters and 1 brother and there are 14 nieces and nephews so it was very busy!!! Some of the siblings are from out of town and so having them all together is a big deal.

Some of the cousins. It was so loud we got a complaint. Oops.

Some Koy fish flocking to the boys at the resort. They must have thought we had some food.

Trying to contain all the kids at the table while setting up for the wedding.

KC with all his siblings, the groom, his dad, and our little nephew. KC comes from a very mixed family of yours, mine, ours, and even theirs. KC is the theirs. Maybe that's obvious as he looks nothing like anyone else!!!

Preston bustin' out some serious dance moves with his cute cousin the flower girl. He even kissed her later!!! WOOT! WOOT!!

We were all pretty exhausted later. The kids were so wound up and worn out.

The next day the kids got to play on the playground at the resort.

We ate leftovers in one of the rooms while the bride and groom opened gifts.

It happened to be this nephew's birthday so we used wedding cake to celebrate.
And then we headed to St. George that night with KC's brother. However, we totally missed our exit to 1-15 somehow and we were by LAX when KC's brother called our cell and said we are waaayyy off track. Plus we were not getting off there because it was a scary part of LA and we weren't risking the lives of our families. It didn't help that one of KC's brother's kids had to go "#2" either. But, like I said, we WERE NOT getting off for anything, including a potty break. But we figured out a way to get back on track and pulled off in a safer part and my niece was a brave girl and made it to the bathroom. Wow that was a freaky experience!!! I will never take a trip like this again without a navigation system. We should have gotten to St. George by around midnight but we rolled in at 5 a.m. we were so off track by the whole thing. KC's other 2 sisters even left California a bit later that night and made it to SLC before we made it to St. George. Pathetic. Oh well live and learn.
Then we got up on Sunday at 9 a.m. and drove home totally exhausted. I don't know how we made it, to be honest. Oh well. The important thing is we made it home alive. I am so grateful for that.
Anyway, I really wish we could have traveled down earlier to allow for us to have more down time and the area was so beautiful I would have loved to do some other things and spend more time not feeling so exhausted but with my kids school programs and them being sick it didn't work out. It was all about the wedding anyway.
Now that I am home I am trying to get back in the Holiday groove here!!
